cool video idea. i was just reflecting on today's meeting, and it occurred to me: there seemed to be a lot of interest in a feature for the website--either a blog or "wall" or email address--that would allow students to contact us directly. while i think this personal aspect is important, i just want to remind everyone that we--and i am definitely speaking for myself here--are all probably pretty busy, and it might be difficult to keep up with everyone's questions and comments. we don't want to implement a feature and then neglect to maintain it, because that would just look bad and discourage students from seeing us as a viable resource. for this reason, i think it might be more beneficial for everyone to let this dialogue component consist of FAQs and then perhaps monthly/bi-monthly live chats on line, for which we, the DGS members, could tag team it in half-hour or hour-long increments. that way there isn't a constantly huge burden on our end, and students will get responses immediately. just a thought. thanks!

I think that's a great point. There's nothing more frustrating that a well-intentioned site that quickly becomes static (and, so, outdated). That said, maybe we could find a working medium that's both realistic and beneficial. Good conversation to have. And also, it would useful to think about how (and if) we'd be able to recruit the DoGS of the future to keep it up.
