i like the 'discover yourself' slogan/magnifying glass imagery for promoting DGS as a whole (rather than particularly DGSociety). i thought it might be nifty to use the magnifying glass to zoom in on the 'you' of 'yourself' just to make the logo a little more eye-catching. see crappy rough sketch above (thanks once again to paint). just an idea...
i also like the 'let DOGS roam and they'll find their way home' slogan/dog imagery. if we do a two-part blitz campaign, we could use the 'discover yourself' slogan/imagery for DGS as a whole, and later do a second installment featuring the "dogs" slogan/imagery to focus specifically on us as the DGSociety.
also, i agree with Brandi's suggestion that we should put 'brought to you by--" or "for more info, contact--" "DGSociety" on all promotional materials for the Division of General Studies, just so we have our name out there and associated with the DGS.

Leah,
Very good points--esp thinking about our approach to publicity as a multi-layered process. And also, as we march onward, to continue to think about the very precise relationship between the language we choose and the outcome we intend (or the service we offer). Group Two has done a great job getting this together...and I think we can also see the value of the small groups then bringing their projects to the larger crew: let's us continue to refine our idea.
Another odd thought I had, playing on the magnifying glass image, might be to get some sort of promo magnifying glasses like:

We could put some text on the handle. Maybe in the spring, on the quad. To promote what? Why? Or maybe on the engineering quad, to promote DGS services to a neck of the woods we rarely rub elbows with...yet we could certainly offer services and options for multidimensional (or weary) engineering students. This kind of stuff. We can bounce ideas, if such a thing would seem worthwhile.
Great points, too, about putting "brought to you by...." on materials/products/etc.
Others have thoughts?
